Week 46: Be Ye Doers of the Word, and Not Hearers Only
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only.
James 1:22
James wrote short, practical counsel for daily discipleship: ask God for wisdom, bridle your tongue, care for the fatherless and widows, and show your faith by your works. One verse in this letter, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God,” moved a fourteen-year-old Joseph Smith to go into a grove of trees to pray. This week, put one verse of James into action every day.
This companion follows James for the week of November 8 – 14, alongside your Come, Follow Me New Testament study.
