Be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

1 Timothy 4:12

Paul wrote to Timothy, a young leader he loved like a son: “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers.” He reminded Timothy of the faith of his grandmother Lois and mother Eunice, and that “God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Near the end of his life, Paul could say, “I have fought a good fight… I have kept the faith.”

This companion follows 1 and 2 Timothy; Titus; Philemon for the week of October 18 – 24, alongside your Come, Follow Me New Testament study.
