Week 5: The Spirit of the Lord Is upon Me
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor.
Luke 4:18
After forty days of fasting in the wilderness, Jesus faced Satan’s temptations, and answered every one with scripture. Then, in His own hometown synagogue, He read from Isaiah and declared His mission: to heal the brokenhearted and set the captives free. On the shore of Galilee, He called fishermen to follow Him, and they left everything.
This companion follows Matthew 4; Luke 4–5 for the week of January 25 – 31, alongside your Come, Follow Me New Testament study.
